The AUHS School of Nursing runs simulation sessions for students who miss clinical days. On Feb 2, 2025, the BSN students happily participated in a simulation session for 12 hours to earn the needed hours for a clinical rotation.
The students interacted and practiced important skills needed for caring for an asthma patient. The case study and simulation posed various challenges for the students as they took on the various roles that would inspire them to work as a team. They demonstrated patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, teamwork, quality improvement, and patient safety. Students are expected to maintain excellence in simulations as they would in clinical settings. In the end, the students were excited to have ensured that the ‘patient’ was comfortable and safe.
