The dean of the School of Medicine, Prof. Sandor Szabo, who is also an external member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS), participated in the 200th anniversary sessions of the Academy where he received a special recognition award as well as a unique gift made by the famous Zsolnay Porcelain Factory (established in 1863). Dr. Szabo received the award for establishing the Association of Hungarian American Academicians (AHAA) in 2015, five years after he was elected to be a member of HAS. The Academy’s 200th special anniversary program included the 9th Annual Conference of AHAA, which featured special lectures by four Nobel Prize winners.
